Astalaxmi Shakya appoints 6 Ministers and 4 Ministers of State

Bagmati Chief Minister Astalaxmi Shakya has expanded her cabinet appointing 6 Ministers and 4 Ministers of State.

Chief Minister Shakya, who is in the minority, on Wednesday appointed six ministers and four ministers of state. In the newly formed cabinet, Dr. Ajay Kranti Shakya has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law.

Similarly, Rachna Khadka has been appointed Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, while Vijay Subedi has been appointed Minister for Social Development and Shanti Prasad Poudel has been appointed Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest, and Environment.

Pradip Kumar Katuwal Chhetri has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Health while Chandra Lama has been appointed the Minister of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Chief Minister Shakya has appointed Jeevan Khadka, Saraswati Bati, Juneli Shrestha, and Badri Mainali as ministers of state. Khadka has been appointed Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure Development, Minister of State for Bati Industries, Shrestha Minister of State for Social Development, and Mainali Minister of State for Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives.

Six newly appointed ministers and four ministers of state have been sworn in on Wednesday.

With the appointment on Wednesday, the Bagmati Council of Ministers has 12 members.

With some lawmakers choosing a new party led by Madhav Nepal, the Bagmati government is in the minority. In Bagmati, 13 out of 56 UML MPs have chosen the Unified Socialist Party.
