Today’s Provincial Assembly meeting will feature a vote of confidence for Sudurpaschim Province’s Chief Minister (CM), Kamal Shah (Sunday).
The provincial assembly meeting that will take place at 1 o’clock today will feature a motion for a vote of confidence that Shah, who is also the leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party, has prepared.
In accordance with Clause 3 of Article 168 of the Constitution, Shah became the Chief Minister after his party gained the most seats in the Province Legislature.
A constitutional requirement states that the chief minister must request a vote of confidence from the provincial parliament within 30 days of taking office.
In Sudurpaschim Province, Chief Minister Shah aims to win the support of 41 legislators.
There are 19 legislators in the Nepali Congress, 10 in the Maoist Center, 4 from the Unified Samajwadi Party, 7 from the Nagarik Unmukti Party, and 1 independent.
