NEPSE gains 16.39 points to close at 1,874.87 today

On the first trading day following the Tihar holidays, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose 16.39 points to 1,874.87 points.

The index has risen 14.35 points the day before Tihar.

The index began at 1,860.39 points and fell as low as 1,856.93 before closing at an intraday high of 1,874.87. Similarly, the Sensitive Index rose 4.93 points today to settle at 370.86.

Today, a total of 2,574,975 shares from 224 firms were traded in 17,748 transactions, resulting in a daily turnover of Rs 697 million.

NIC Asia Bank Limited had the greatest turnover of Rs 617 million, while Prabhu Bank Limited had the most traded shares.

Also, Sayapatri Hydropower Limited earned the most (10%) and closed on a good note for the day, while Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Limited lost the most (8.16%).

Only one sector closed in the red, “Development Bank,” which lost 0.39 percent, while “Hotels And Tourism” gained the most today, 1.65 percent.
