The United States has emerged victorious in women’s football under the ongoing Tokyo Olympics in Japan.

The United States beat New Zealand 6-1 on Saturday.

Rose Lavelli, Lindsay Horn, Christine Press and Alex Morgan scored one goal each in the US victory.

Two goals were a suicide gift to the United States.

New Zealand’s Abbey Ercheg and Katherine Boat scored suicide goals while Betsy Hassett returned a goal.

It is also the first victory in the United States. The United States, in Group G, lost its first game to Sweden.
